Moi,
from yesterday's discussion at Hentta, I made a quick&dirty video of how I practise.
I found this a good exercise... am not particularly good at it myself, though :D

Nice vid and that is indeed a very good excercise to begin with. Just to make it clearer to others, the manouvre shown in the video is really just the first step in piroflip training and is more like flip with 360 piroutette which is not the same thing as a piroflip. In a piroflip the heli does more than one piro per flip, usually 3 to 5.

you are most welcome to repeat this with five piros per flip :-)
What makes it "advanced" in my opinion is to control the direction of the flip.
Well, it depends where you come from: If I can already fly piroing loops, there is nothing new here. But I know lots of people (also from Phoenix multiplayer), who practise only "a" piroflip and don't worry much about the direction. This gives them something new to practise.

So this is your "educational" voice ;D
Good video of showing how to control heli in different phases. However there are multiple ways to practise these. Best way if of course define a trick which you learn and then practise that than just do what ever pops in your head.
I am now trying to go back to basics and do fast stationary piros. Not easy at all. You mastered those pretty well. Not sure how much flybarless (pthyi :P) helped you there.

>> So this is your "educational" voice
it beats the "evil-German-supervillain" voice...
Well I had to speak quietly, didn't want to wake up the neighbors... ACHTUNG! STILLGESTANDEN! SAUERKRAUT, SCHWEINEHUND!! ::)
>> do fast stationary piros
oh I wasn't even moving the sticks. It's all about what you shout at your heli. Let me repeat this once more, slowly:
STILL-GE-STAN-DEN ;D

ACHTUNG! STILLGESTANDEN! SAUERKRAUT, SCHWEINEHUND!! ::)
To boost the stereotype you should add lederhosen to that... ;)
Anyway, I have tried to piro and flip (not piroflip) a few times in a sim. I came to a conclusion that what it says under my avatar here in the forum, is what I can do. Piro/flip I can not... :P

I was very carefully avoiding that :)
I don't understand the confusion of terms (neither do I think it matters, except if it's about bragging rights):
A flip is a flip. A piro is a piro. A flip combined with one piro is a xxx? A flip combined with three piros is a piroflip?
For me it's a piroflip, as soon as you combine the moves.
Now my opinions don't really matter, but what if I turn it around: How many flips can you do per piro? (hint: use rudder trim in the sim to find out...)
No, the main dificulty is IMO to "fly" through the move - stay connected with the heli at any time and do the right correction.
Adding more piros (or more flips) is then rather straightforward.

Just read some threads on different forums about piro flips and there truly seems to be confusion about the terms, the one in my post above was just my opinion, not to be taken too seriously :).
A flip is a flip. A piro is a piro. A flip combined with one piro is a xxx
Came a cross with this term: half piroflip. Or then it's too a piro flip, can be debated.
