Hello,
some people have encountered broken tail blade holder screws on the large T-Rexes (I'm one of them - it wasn't pretty).
As a modification, it has been proposed to put a 3rd bearing on top of the thrust bearing.
There is enough space (barely).
Ingredients:
- M3x12 cap screw, socket cap is reportedly shorter
- 3x10x4 ball bearing
- Washer M3 x 0.5 mm (the stock washer is thicker).
- tape
The tape may be needed on the bearing so that it sits tightly in the blade grip. Done correctly, it's slop free. Use two small strips on either side.
On my more recent 700, it worked without tape.
Class 12.9 screws were recommended, and can be bought at modelfixings.co.uk. The parts codes are
* MF-MB-014 (bearing)
* MF-SC-03 (screws).
Socket cap
might work, but I haven't tried, and can't find them in 12.9.
It may be necessary to file off the edge of the blade grips after the mod.[/list]
