Subject sounds familiar... Not the first one, and probably not the last one.

Canopy flipped up (because the new alu landing gear is thinner than the old one and doesn't hold the canopy reliably). Canopy blocked swashplate, and the heli did a beautiful half-loop downwards.
With throttle I managed somehow to keep it in the air until headspeed was almost gone.
Having learnt from earlier crashes I left the motor on, so we managed to find it despite the high grass 
Damage: One ball link 
that's hard to beat for a skids-up landing... not impossible... but hard.

PS: I learned later that something similar happened already in the weekend... now several people (and I) modified their raptor canopies as in the photo, preventing this incident in the future.

argh got not so lucky this time... raptor is still drying, oh don't ask why
perfect autorotation when the motor died without -any- warning... next time I'll try to hit a better spot, though.

and for all you naysayers out there, NO it was NOT the gasket... it still has compression.
But this ends the days of my TT 50 engine in active flying service, it gets relegated to duty as powered paper weight
