Ollaan Juzan kanssa menossa kentälle noin klo 17.30...

Oli taas hyvä lentokeli vaikka päivällä oli hirmu tuuli. Laitoin tänään Rexiin Mini-DV kameran kiinni ja muutaman akullisen sen kanssa lentelin. Täytyy kohta laittaa pari videota tänne!

I agree completely that one shouldn't fly too close, no argument about that. And I was also surprised as to how dramatic this picture looks.
But please don't get excited about it: You can't tell spatial distance. The heli is closer to the camera than I am.
Imagine taking a T-Rex canopy, hold it close to my head at the same angle in "reality".  You'll notice that it's quite a bit smaller. Perspective plays tricks on the eye.
In the turn, the heli was already past its closest point to me. So it's six or seven meters distant, and moving away.
There really wasn't anything to get excited about.
 
Your feedback is appreciated, and I'll keep an eye on safety distance. I have actually commented this myself on a few occasions, I guess some of you guys are grinning widely when you read this.
I stay clear of people who demonstrate macho bravado by taking stupid risks, and don't count myself into that same category as well.

You can hear me forexample saying: ".. its just fine, lets fly" even if I shoud take a break and think before action

don't get me wrong. I really appreciate your comments, and have tried to get into contact with some of the more experienced fliers for that reason, Silli may remember.
Now you said already once a while back that I am flying too close - and you were right. Although the picture seems to tell a different story, I have been listening
