Frankly, I don't like this public finger-pointing at all. Yea helis are dangerous and if I feel endangered by someone's flying you bet I'll speak up (or walk away).
But, please: Helis don't kill people or cripple them for life. Motorcycles do, cars and bicycles.
Alcohol does, especially in combination with the latter. And did I mention smoking?
Well, I feel sorry for the guy in Malaysia who lost an eye. That chap in China even got killed, that is sad. But heck, I knew at least five people closely who died too soon - motorcycles, car, bicycle, cancer from smoking, the usual. "Died", as in "funeral", not "know somebody who knows somebody who still has a scar from that horrible heli accident".
So please, go ahead and get excited when you see someone drive too fast, too close. Drink too much. Smoke. And most people will still laugh at you and say "hey, what is he making all the fuss about? He's weird!""
What's that? Endangering a pony? Please, get real.
Now if you are really concerned about the wellbeing of people, forget the public finger-pointing and look out for your friends instead.
Don't you worry, sooner or later you'll get your chance when you realize that someone really should do something about his drinking habits.
