Moi,
after going through the first half of the F3N set moves, I'm really scratching my head how the judging is supposed to work.
Take these:
16: Tictoc
K618: Backward loop
K6.519: 360 degree turn with roll
K6.5Or those:
22. inverted backwards horizontal 8
K 823. Rolling circle:
K7.5What's the problem?
- A backwards loop is trivially easy (I mean, not to score 10 points, but to be able to fly the move). It's a plain old loop. Just backwards. So what?
- A "360 degree turn with roll" is trivially easy, too, add a piro to the pullback maneuver from F3C 2010, and fly away in the middle of it.
But:
Tictocs, hmmm, maybe I don't have what it takes to be a real 3D flyer
but after practising all winter on the sim I manage barely to keep the
heli in place. The rules ask for "the
tail rotor shouldn't move", and then three times in a row. Mr Szabo, your opinion?
Or those:
- Cuban 8 backwards: K8.5
- Backwards rolling circle: K8.5
What?? A Cuban 8 is Eurosport. Doing it backwards doesn't change anything, if the gyro works as it should. At least my own backwards cubans don't look much different from the forward ones - sure, they both are ugly, but I don't practise this kind of flying much, for lack of space.
Rolling circles, well, be my guest. I
did practise them all winter, and they don't look better than my Cubans. 'nuff said.
So what's the point? I'm just wondering, do you have
any chance to be competitive, if you insist on flying 3D moves. And
especially so once the F3C veterans learn about flybarless.
I want to fly 3D, maybe one day go to international comps. But, the way things look now, it feels a bit like bringing running shoes to a bicycle race. It would be interesting to know, how they handled it for example in Munich Heli masters, where the list of set moves was more or less the same.
Any thoughts welcome, and I hope the "insiders" know something here that I don't
Cheers
Markus
