Banked turn exercise

Let me summarize our achievements:
We turned a simple, basic move into a complicated mess involving no less than 11 consecutive steps.

Well, it is a bit idealized. But to be honest, it's not that far from reality. With practise, most steps will happen automatically.
Breaking it into many small pieces gives us the big advantage that we can practise them individually

A big help is to fly Tr2 and Tr4 at least initially as separate moves. One of the toughest nuts to crack is collective control at Tr6 and Tr7 , when exiting the turn.

And here is how to practise it.
Banked turn, see here for details (drawing with numbers).

segment 5: repeated upright circles

transition 2 and 4: enter a banked turn from straight, level flight

repeated racetrack pattern, focus on transition 2 (roll, releasing collective into ballistic flight)

repeated racetrack pattern, focus on transition 4: Pulling the heli into the banked turn

repeated racetrack pattern, focus on segment 5: Maintaining a steady half circle with constant altitude

repeated racetrack pattern, focus on segment 5: Enter banked turn and establish repeated circles at constant altitude

repeated racetrack pattern, focus on segment 6: Pay attention to a crisp exit from the banked turn into ballistic flight. Exaggerate and leave it 'flying straight like a brick', with unloaded collective, for a split second.

repeated racetrack pattern, focus on transition 8: focus on rolling back to level flight

Complete, repeating racetrack pattern: Enter your evaluation here

A single banked 90-degree turn (3D move): Enter fast and low, pull around 90 degree and exit straight and still low.
sim:

A single banked 180-degree turn (3D move): Enter fast and low, pull around 180 degree and exit straight and low.
sim:

A single banked 360-degree turn (3D move): Enter fast and low, pull around in a full circle and exit straight and low.

Don't hesitate to slow down the simulator, it may give you a completely new perspective on things.
