Making it harder: No springs

The sim is idealized and in many ways too easy. Maybe it gets a bit boring?
Here is one idea you can try (now and then, not all the time): Offset one of the trims on your radio to maximum. Now you'll have to "fight" constantly against the spring, forcing you to "fly" the heli at any point during the move.
Start with rudder, and do some straight-line moves. It's very hard at first, but gets easier quickly.
Then add more axes, until you are flying completely without the help of springs. It won't look pretty, but it's an immensely useful exercise to learn all those small corrections that should happen automatically all the time (and do happen automatically for experienced pilots).

I sometimes use an old, broken radio, where the springs are removed. It's a very effective learning tool, you see clear improvements within a couple of minutes. I went through my whole catalogue of moves and tried to make every variation work, at least somehow. It took a couple of hours, but it has helped me a lot.

Occasionally practising without springs can give you a completely fresh perspective on a move, helping your progress.
