Basic survival

A piroflip is a flip while the heli is piroing. We'll look at the flip first, and start with a half-flip.
Probably you are more confident in upright flight than inverted. Therefore, "catching" the heli when things go bad is easier when the skids are down. So we start our flip out of an inverted hover, and several mistakes high.
To me, nose-in feels most natural, but any direction will do

The pilot should be reasonably confident in inverted hover, at sufficient altitude (~15 m+).
If not, practise (and don't forget "high enough") . Otherwise, you'd be off for a bad start.
