This page is under construction. Don't believe every word :-) Lazy stall turnsThis is the first step towards stall turns. The pilot should be able to fly the heli left-to-right and back. Simple as it may sound, flying a straight line can be a real challenge! Mastering stall turns gives ample opportunity to practise this skill. "Lazy"means that the heli ascends at first at a rather shallow angle, for example 30 degrees. Otherwise, it's hard work... 1): Enter in straight and level flight. 2): Pull into a gentle ascent. A bit of additional collective pitch is needed during the transition. 3): Ascend in a straight line, slowing down. 4): The heli comes to a stop and turns around. 5): Descend in a straight line, accelerating. 6): Pull into straight and level flight. 7): Straight and level fly-by 8): Repeat on the other side. Most people have one "favourite" side. Always keep practising the weaker side - a good sign is if you aren't sure, which one is better. Practising stall turns will require many repetitions - hundreds or more. Unfortunately, this is impossible, when one out of ten attempts ends in a crash: Therefore: Try to challenge yourself, but don't take avoidable risks. With few exceptions, progress in RC heli flying comes in many tiny improvements, not as one big breakthrough.
