Setup

Like just about anything else, this gets easier with a bigger heli. Further, a heavy heli helps, especially if it's a bit nose-heavy.
Flybar weights could be useful on a twitchy 3D heli to teach it some manners and straight lines, but in the end it all depends on the pilot.
Check that your flybar paddles are firmly attached to the flybar and do not rotate under load. The paddles work hard in stall turns, and a twisting paddle can lead to partial loss of cyclic control and send the heli straight towards terra firma.
